I posted a message weeks ago looking for information about the WEISSEL (WEISEL) family. All I knew then was that my father descends from Catherine WEISSEL (1793-1869) from Tohickon Union Church who married William BALL in Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA. And that my mother descends from Catharine WEISSEL (1782-1851) from Tohickon Union Church who married Abraham ADERHOLD in Bedminster Twp, Bucks Co, PA and later moved to Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA. Since then, I learned that Catherine WEISSEL BALL is the daughter of George WEISSEL and Elizabeth HOENIG and was born into the Tohickon Union Church, Bedminster Twp, Bucks Co, PA. Later, but before marriage, she moved with her family to Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA. Her family is buried in the Quaker Hill Cemetery in Eldred Twp, Lycoming Co, PA. as are several generations of her descendents. I still cannot identify the parents of Catharine WEISSEL ADERHOLD. She and her husband, Abraham ADERHOLD, certainly attended Tohickon Union Church. At least their second and third children's birth and baptism are recorded in the church records. Additionally, Abraham ADERHOLD's siblings attended Tohickon, there being records of marriages and births. There is a large WEISSEL family in the church over several generations as well. I have found little evidence of ADERHOLD or WEISSEL families outside the Tohickon Union Church in this time period. I've done about as much as I can with church records available to me to trace relationships, and I still cannot find how Catharine WEISSEL ADERHOLD (1782-1851) fits in the WEISSEL family. If anyone else has records for this family, I would be pleased to share information.
