Catherine McAFFE (born 1844) first appears in the 1850 Lycoming Co. census for Oval, Nippenose Valley, Limestone Twp., as six years old living with a John E. and Catharine BUCHER. Buchers were from Lebanon Co. C. McAFFE evidently was an orphan. She later married my gr-grandfather, Levi SATTESON, then living in Northumberland Co (Turbot Twp.). Sattesons were originally from Lebanon Co. also. How did Levi meet Catherine? What's the Lebanon connection? Who was Mrs. Bucher - could she have been a McAFFE?
