All, Many of you know Carol and have been helped by her in your genealogy quests. Please pray for her and her family through this most difficult time. Sincerely, Kevin L. It seems so impersonal, and I don't mean it to be such. I must tell you that Bill died on June 15. We found him on the garage floor and we tried CPR but to no avail. The EMT's, even the doctor and two nurses from Cross Road Medical Center, where I work, were here so very fast and could do nothing. We don't know what happened. There will be some tissue donation and that may give us a hint since they do a partial examination. We do suspect it was a massive heart attack, since it happened so very suddenly. We had a WONDERFUL last couple weeks. We got to see old friends in Pennsylvania. We got back to Alaska June 11 and then went on a beautiful ferry ride in Prince William Sound on Friday June 14, and the weather was perfect. Bill showed no signs whatsoever of illness of any kind, so whatever it was was very sudden. There was a WONDERFUL memorial service yesterday at Copper Center Chapel, the small Native church we have attended since coming to Alaska. It was LOADED with praise and adoration of the Lord and was all I could ever have asked for. But, what a change of plans!! I will go to Pennsylvania for another service next week and return here in a couple weeks. Then I have to get things sorted and leave here a year earlier than we thought, and alone. A nephew will come to drive with me if that is the way I choose to go. Please pray for us, especially our children, as they have tended to "slide away" from the Lord. This experience can either make or break for them. Bill's strong testamony was well known here and they will certainly benefit from the kind words and deeds of the Christian community here. If they will just HEAR what is being said................................!! Bill's sister Jean is here for a visit and, although it is a stressful time for her and she is not well, I am so very comforted by her presence. Also, the Alaska Bible College community is VERY supportive and will be here for us as well. We have set up a memorial fund at ABC for the new building. He was really concerned about that building. I will want to come back to see it when it is done. (Alaska Bible College Building Fund, PO Box 289, Glennallen AK 99588) I will be with this e-mail addy for a while. I'll let you know when it will change. With much appreciation for getting to know another "cuz"!! -- Carol Courter Updegraff PO Box 222 Glennallen, AK 99588-0222 cupdegraff@cvinternet.net Locations I am researching include Lycoming, Clinton, Centre, Snyder and Northumberland Counties in Pennsylvania.
