    3. Hello: My name is Bob Wescoatt from Chico, California, just starting my mother's family tree and am seeking information on my g-g-grandfather, George Hauke, who was born in Williamsport, Pa, 24 Sept 1818 and married a Martha Polhamus who was born in Williamsport, Pa, on 21 June 1823. I have the information on the Polhamus line but am seeking any information on the Hauke line. We have some information that the name originally may have been spelled Houck and possibly his parents may have come from Holland. I do not know the name or country of origin on his parents. Any information/help will be appreciated. Bob Wescoatt --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Sign-up for Video Highlights of 2002 FIFA World Cup

    3. I have one person in my database with the surname you are looking for: Elizabeth HOUCK who married Jacob Franklin "Frank" EDLER. Unfortunately, I don't have any dates or places to go with this family. But Jacob EDLER'S parents were married in 1849 and he was listed as the 6th of 11 children. So my guess is that Jacob was born around 1855-1865. His wife, Elizabeth HOUCK was probably similar in age. This would make her a possible daughter or niece of your George HOUCK & Martha POLHAMUS (PAULHAMUS?). Perhaps the 1850 census would be a good place to start to look for George HOUCK / HAUKE / HOUK. Sorry I don't have anything more to go on.
