Good morning Kathy; Just some info. for you. We live in San Bernardino County, CA., just north of the city of San Bernardino. There is a SWARTHOUT Valley in the San GABERIEL mountains. It runs east to west from the town of Wrightwood down to the Cajon Pass. I don't know how it received its name. There was an army post in the valley during the middle '80s to stop bandits and rustlers from raiding SB city. Later, Frank and Watt Earp bought their parents an apple orchard in the valley that is still active.
