Would anyone have information of any ship sailing's from Ireland in 1783? My folks went to North Umberland area, so I have no idea of which port they may have landed. My William Buchanan, born in Donegal, Ireland, immigrated to the U. S. with his parents in 1783 and settled in North Umberland (Which became Lycoming County.) I believe William to be the father of my GGGrandfather, Robert M. Buchanan, b 1823 at Elimsport, Pa.. According to Deed Book 189, pg. 321, Robert's land abutted land of John Buchanan, so there were other Buchanan's in the area, although I can't find John in the census.
