    3. Greetings, I'm just joining your list and researching the Harris/Scott line. My great, great grandmother Margaret Harris was born in Loyalsock, near Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA in 1810. Her grandparents were John Harris and Susanna Scott. John born 1759, Susanna born 1769. John's parents were Samuel Harris and Margaret HOPKINS and Susannah's parents were Henry Scott and Mary DEAN. This family was all Quaker, from Deer Creek, MD before coming to PA. I had some success in locating information in a DAR book in the genealogy library while visiting a few years ago, but I have not been able to establish the father of my Margaret Harris, or mother. Due to our family information we knew the names of the people her aunt and uncle married and were able to establish this is the correct family. But there are two sons who could be her father, and not a trace of them to help establish the relationship. I am hoping that perhaps someone who lives in the area, or is familiar with researching this area can assist me in locating something about one of these men to link to my Margaret. The men are: Henry born 1788 and John born 1796. Henry is the most likely I think because Margaret had 8 sons. The first son was named for her husband William. The second son was named Henry. No son was named John. Any help in locating information on Henry Harris born 1788 to John Harris and Susanna (Scott) Harris and who he married would be a huge breakthrough in this brickwall. Pattee
