    3. Hi, I am new to the list as of today and I am writing to inquire if anyone knows if there are early tax lists for Lycoming County prior to 1812? I live in Bradford County, Pennsylvania which was part of Lycoming County before Bradford County was formed. Our tax assessment lists begin 1812-13 and are a valuable source of genealogical information. I am interested in the period from the late 1790's to 1812-13. I am particularly interested in Smithfield Township tax assessment lists which at that time period covered what is now Columbia, Wells, South Creek, Springfield, and Smithfield Townships in Bradford County. Do they exist and if so where can I obtain access to them? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. J. Kelsey Jones montrose@npacc.net

I don't know if that extended to Bradford Co or not,,but worth a try. -- Carol Courter Updegraff PO Box 222 Glennallen, AK 99588-0222 cupdegraff@cvinternet.net
