Discover Your Ancestors! Does anyone on the list have the book "Lycoming County Cemeteries, Volumes 2", containing cemeteries in Cummings Township, who would be willing to do a lookup? I'm looking for information on the death/burial of Henry & Caroline Ritter. I know that Henry died between 1900 and 1910. Caroline died after 1920. They lived in Cummings Township from 1880 until they died, from what I can tell based on census records. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks! Christie Loveless christie1976@hotmail.com
Might anyone have knowledge of what church, Rev. George W. Stevens served, in about 1895? Thanks, Larry Hunt Pittsburgh, PA
If Sarah Broyles of TN is still a member of this list, please contact me privately... I have some new family info for you. My apologies to all...I was one of the very unfortunately victims of the Excite/@Home ISP mess. I lost all my e-mail addresses, not to mention the entire contents of my HD, when the transition to the Comcast ISP finally happened. Please note my new e-mail address: samartini@comcast.net. My genealogy website should be back up shortly. Keep checking at http://mywebpages.comcast.net/samartini/. Thanks. Hi Larry, I believe the "White Church" that you are referring to is actually called St. James Lutheran also known as the Dewald Church. It is right on the border of Fairfield and Muncy Twps. It can be located by taking I-180 east from Williamsport, exit at the Lycoming Mall exit, turn left off the ramp onto Mall Rd. and go about 2 miles to the church on the left. Many of my close relatives are buried there. I have been trying to get a hold of records from there too, I was going to try the Muncy Historical Society. Does anyone else know? I would imagine the Hagermans are one and the same. Both Washington Co. Ohio and Lycoming Co. Pa. Aaron and Aseneth were married 1779 in Pa. Lycoming Co. Pa. is where Amariah (Aseneth's father) was living about that time. WAshington Co. Ohio is where most of those Hagermans went to live later. Hi All, Might anyone know what the full name is for "The White Church", which is in Fairfield Twp. If the church is still active, might anyone know their address? Might anyone know if old records (1850s) are available? Thanks in advance, Larry Hunt Pittsburgh, PA

New to this list. I am trying to find out how or if my 3rd greatgrandfather, Eli Jefferson Hagerman b. 13 Dec. 1822 in Waterford Twp. Washington Co. OH, is related to the Hagerman/Hageman families of Lycoming Co. I think he is related to Aaron Hageman and Asenath Sutton of Six Mile Run but I have conflicting data that one has William Hageman/Hagerman as a son and the other doesn't mention him. Same for James Hageman/Hagerman b. abt. 1778 I think there might have been a Peter Hagerman in that family as well. William came to Wash. OH in 1817 and was born in Lycoming Co. I have checked both these fellows and neither of them had my Eli. The reason I think they are related is that I found a gardianship record dated 1843 for Wash. Co. OH, James Legget was given gardianship of Eli J. Hagerman and some money was exchanged to the future father-in-law of Eli. (not sure what went on there) Eli was 21 at the time. Anyway, to make a long story short, this same James Legget married the daughter of William Hagerman mentioned above, her name was Hannah Hagerman. They married in 1850 same county and state. Would some kind person have access to historys & bio's that lists the names of all the children of all the Hagerman/Hageman families that lived in Lycoming Co. ? Any kind of help would be welcome. Thanks, Cidney Wheaton, IL.
The "Old White Church" is on Broad Street in Montoursville. It was shared by the Methodist Episcopal and Presbyterian congregations. It is still there and has been converted to apartments. I believe that the Jersey Shore Historical Society has a museum on Main Street in Jersey Shore. My g-g-grandfather, George Hauke, was born in Williamsport on 24 Sept 1818. I am looking for any information as to whom his parents were and from where they emigrated. Thanks for any help. All, I have found in the 1880 census Thomas Mahaffey living in Hughesville with wife (Elizabeth Sholder) and his children. As well as the oldest daughter listed as Emma (Emily) McLean and daughter Viola McLean (age 6). However no son-in-law. Is anyone searching the McLean family? I can not find a reference to the McLean name in the History of Lycoming County (1892). Any help with either Hughesville or the McLean name would be helpful, as I am not familiar with Hughesville at all. Thanks, Kevin L.
