For all counties, they're obtainable from New Castle. Just to make sure, I called Lycoming County and they verified that they don't have anything earlier. Has anyone had experience accessing death records from the Lycoming Co. Courthouse? And if so, what info do they contain? Is it better to write or to visit in person? I'm interested in dates between 1867 and 1891. Barbara B
Looking for any information on Benjamin Parker BUDD. He met Martha Mae WORTHINGTON in Unityville, Pennsylvania and they moved to Philadelphia to marry. It is assumed that that Benjamin might also have been from Unityville. Appreciate any help.

All, I have just recently joined this list and thought that I would introduce myself. I am Kevin Sholder of Centerville, OH. I have been doing genealogy research in Lycoming County for about 12 years. Please stop by we may be of help to each other. :) The main page is at: http://www.siscom.net/~rdrunner/index.htm I have just finished updating a few pages, mostly the databases that I have on line. Including the Scholderer - Sholder family, Ulmer family and the Ancestors of Christian and Cavanaugh. I have also moved the location of the Scholderer - Sholder and the Ancestor pages. Please go to: http://www.siscom.net/~rdrunner/HTML/IndexOfPages.html to get the latest links to these pages. Also I have started to place information on my Lycoming County page. It will be a long process but I thought I needed to get something out there. So please bear with me as I will be updating this page quite often in the near future. Have a safe holiday, Kevin L. Hi. Is anyone have any information on the Covenhoven family members that lived in Lycoming County, PA in the late 1700's? In John F. Meginniss's book "The History of Lycoming County" published in 1892 there is quite a few references to Covenhovens. Albert, Robert, and John are three that I have seen so far. Robert Covenhoven seems to have played a primary role in the fight against the Indians during the time period. Would be interested to hear from anyone with more information on this. Hi everyone I've recently found out that my grandfather was born in Williamsport in 1871, I'm now trying to find the marriage of his parents - John Reilly to Helen Maguire sometime prior to 1871. The only information I have is that the family were members of The Church of the Annunciation (which I understand was formed in 1871), and the baptism of my grandfather William Reilly was noted in their records. Prior to 1871 I'm given to understand that the catholic members of the 'Annunciation' were members of St. Boniface Church - which had been made up of mainly German parishioners. I feel sure that John Reilly would have been married in St. Boniface. I wonder if anyone out there could point me in the right direction as to how I might be able to find a marriage date? In addition does anyone know where the records for imigrants to PA from Ireland circa 1860/70 would be held, as my ggf emigrated from Ireland sometime during this period. Any information would be greatly appreciated - many thanks in advance. -- el
Is there anyone else in Lycoming County researching Kinney? I am looking for anything on John Kinney born CT(?) about 1840. He married and lived in Lycoming County 1860-1870. He moved to MO for several years then back to Lyc Ct before 1879. He farmed at Bodines when I knew him. His children were Laura (Loll), Anna Mary, James Arlo, Harriet Elizabeth, Sara C, Nellie S., John Arthur. Are there any Kinney researchers there who might be related? Also, can anyone tell me where East Canton was? I can't find it on a map today but it must be in Lycoming as there are a lot of references to it in early newspapers notices. Margie
For Tony Seidel Just another question to think about. Could the BUCHERs have been Catherine's grandparents? Check ages. Catherine's Mom could have been a Bucher. Why not check IGI for Buchert marriages in that area. Try new LDS site. Good luck. Seeking information about my great-grandfather, Newton A. MOYER. Newton lived and worked on the MOSTELLER farm at Quaker Hill in Eldred Twp, Lycoming Co, PA, at the time he married my great-grandmother (1903), Elizabeth Pearl BLAKER (14AUG1880-22MAY1953). Newton died suddenly at the age of 20 while Elizabeth was pregnant with their first child (my grandmother). He was not around very long, so little is known of him. According to my grandmother's childhood recollections, she heard that her father was from "down the line." That usually means Muncy, Milton, Lewisburg, etc. All stories relate that Newton and Elizabeth were married at Warrensville, Elderd Twp, Lycoming Co, PA, early in 1903 and my grandmother was born in November 1903. I thought for sure that a marriage license would give me a clue as to Newton's pedigree, but I cannot find one. I've checked Lycoming and surrounding counties. I understand that at this time a marriage license was required by all these counties. Also, Newton would have been under 21 when the marriage took place, so he probably needed the signature of a parent or guardian. When Elizabeth married her second husband, she indicated on her license that she was married in 1903 and indicates she is a widow. I am at a loss as to where to go to try to track down Newton's family, or even find a marriage license. Have others come across the lack of a documented marriage license after the time when they were legally required? Any suggestions about how to proceed would be most welcome.
