I put a query out earlier for Berks county on the Lycoming county site. I know the Lycoming people probably think that I went thru the wrong county looking for Weigels. The Weigels lived in Lycoming county from 1840 until now. I am having trouble with their beginnings in Berks county. If anyone is researching the Weigels in either county, let me know and we can share information. The Weigels lived in White Pine, Collumsville, Antes Fort and Williamsport.
I'm searching for SHAFFER, BROOKS, MASON, and HOLLINGSWORTH in Lycoming Co. (also Sarah BEST, b. PA about 1835). Most of these folks settled in what is now Cameron and Elk counties. Dee Zito
I am looking for any information of Weigels that lived in Berks county around 1800. My GGGreat Uncle, Lewis Weigel, was born in Berks county in 1808 and his brother, John, my GGGreat grandfather, was born in 1818. I do not know their parents names. If anyone has any information on the Weigels anything will be appreciated. The name Weigel has been spelled Wikel, Wagle, Weikel and so on. I have hit a brick wall. Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone: The names I am researching, with no luck at all so far, are MISNER or MIZNER or MIZENER or MEISINGER; SHADEL with all of its various spellings too; STOVER; and FAHRINGER. I do know that my 3rd ggrandfather was in Lycoming Co. in 1833. His brother, Jacob MIZENER, resided in Clinton Co, PA when he died in 1854 and was married to Matilda STOVER. The last record I have found for my 4th ggrandparents, John and Susanna MIZENER, is the 1810 census of Lower Mahanoy Twp, Northumberland Co. Sure need help on these families!! Hello, Thanks to everyone who responded to my email. At least I know that I'm still subscribed to the list. My surnames in Lycoming county are; BARGER, BUS(S)LER, CARR, CLARK, DEMAREST, DOUGHERTY, ERGOTT, GRAMLEY, & SUNDERLAND Most of these families are from the Jersey Shore and Nippenose valley area and the others from Williamsport & Washington township. I also have numerous other names from this county, only not in the large amount of the ones listed. If any of these look familar email me. Thanks, Nelson D.
I subscribed a couple of weeks ago, but haven't seen much. Maybe we could start a new trend by asking everyone to submit the surnames they are researching in Lycoming Co. I'm researching Dice, Gamble, Barger/Burger, Switzer, Blackwell, Tomb/Tome, Snyder, and others. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Monday, November 08, 1999 8:12 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: alternative list??? > > > Hello list.
