Massaker and its variations is a rather common name in New Jersey. Unfortunately, the name also comes with multiple spellings, often within the same family. I've seen everything from two S's to one. The "a" in the middle is sometimes found with an "e" or an "i". Others completely drop the vowel in the middle. The "ker" is sometimes spelled "cre". . . . and so on. I am researching the family of Alexander D. MASEKER and his son John W. MASEKER or MASKER from Dover and Randolph, Morris County, NJ. If you wish to discuss these folks, please contact me off list as my group doesn't connect to Luzerne County, PA.
