It is peculiar, Sharon, but I don't believe these have any connection - yet it is most odd. The church, etc., is the same. Mine was John Sommers. I have a fair amount of data on him. He was the son of Maurice. Sometimes his name was spelt Somers, but generally Sommers. It was my father and his brother who changed it to Summers. His other brothers and sisters kept Sommers. Hi Vince, As I said in an earlier email,I think we have touched base before...my Margaret Butcher married Peter Sommers and they had one son Paul. Margaret was my grandfather's sister, she died young of a heart problem. Both are from Plymouth and both buried at St Vincent's...you would expect there to be a connection somewhere, wouldn't you?
