If you search the 1900 census on ancestry you would look for the name Alice Barrett in PA. If you find a very large number you can then restrict the search to Lackawanna County. Bob, we just got info. from the Foundling Home where my father was born his mother in the records stated she was either born or from Jermyn Pa. The lawyer was not able to make copies of the record only to read it. It has taken us over 20 years to get this info. it took us 10 years to get his birth cert. and another ten years to get a copy of his adoption records. Then I found them on the 1920 census with my fathers family. So we are grateful what we have already.Thank you for your help.
