Hi, Anne! My husband's O'Brien ancestors were from Ireland and their baptismal records came from St. Mary's in Wilkes-Barre after I contacted the secretary there. There was a small charge for the copies but it wasn't an exorbitant amount. You might try contacting St. Mary's to see if they can do a search of their records for you for that time period. St. Mary's has an interesting website with information about its history. I would also like to ditto your comments Mary Ann. We went to the rectory at St. Mary's and the secretary was so helpful. She looked up the records and told us that the records we needed were in Pittston. However, the church in Pittston was having some bazaar and said they were too busy. I left the information I was looking for, but they never even sent an e-mail to let me know if the records existed. Since we don't get out to W-B very often, I was disappointed with their treatment.
