Good Morning Listers, Family Legend states that John ARMSTRONG, the father of Catherine Armstrong and her brother, John Armstrong, was also a survivor of the Wyoming Massacre. I have not been able to document anything for Catherine Armstrong prior to her marriage to Zephaniah SPACE in Wyoming Valley on 5 May 1811 so cannot prove the vality of this statement. Catherine Armstrong, according to census records, was born about 1793. There is a printed Space Family Genealogy that states Catherine and John Armstrong were raised by a family named HART in Clarion county, PA. This doesn't make sense to me as Zephaniah was living in Luzerne County until aroudn 1818/19 when land records show he purchased land in Clarion county at that time. Then there is the marriage of Zephaniah and Catherine in Luzerne county in 1811. Another Space family researcher states that Catherine's father died and her mother remarried Jacob NOLF/NULF/NULPH. The wife of Jacob NOLF was Barbara ? This family line is one I would love to document and get past the brick wall that is Catherine. Any assistance, leads or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
