On March 4, 2001, J Rehms offered to lookup births at the LDC. I would greatly appreciate a lookup for my mother's birth on the film you mentioned, FHL #0960578 Luzerne County Birth Index:  L through Z for 1904-1905. Her name was MARY VOLOSIN. However, spellings have been different on documents. It could have been WALASON, WOLASON, etc. On the 1910 Miracode it was spelled Willoshin. When I wrote to the Luzerne County Courthouse, they said they could not find any record. I believe the spelling is the problem. Her birthdate was May 3, 1904. She was born in either Ashley or Fairview in Luzerne County. Her father was George Volosin and her mother's name was Hedwig Karslak (or Karslya), both from Austria-Hungary. I am sorry for all the uncertainties here, but that is all I have. I've been trying for three years to get a birth record. Your help will be so appreciated, whether or not you have any success.
