Hi Everyone ~ I came upon this link accidentally, telling how NE PA towns got their names. It's pretty interesting if you haven't seen it already. http://www.lastsite.com/towns.html Donna Warminster, PA
I'm trying to trace an ancestor using the 1920 Census and have a likely candidate but I'm hung up on geography. His mother's obituary in July 1920 stated he lived in Pittston. The candidate that I located on the Census for that same year lived on Broadhead Avenue in Sugar Notch borough. Can anyone tell me whether Sugar Notch was/is in Pittston? Dick Melbourne, Florida, USA
Don, Sugar Notch is near Ashley, about 8 miles from Pittston. I don't know of any area near Pittston referred to by that same name.
