Hi Folks - Can anyone tell me where the Forty Fort Cemetery is located, and if any of it's transcriptions are online? ~gina thomas patterson~ Visit my homepage at http://hometown.aol.com/ginaburningsky/myhomepage/business.html
The cemetery is still in existance, and is located on Wyoming Avenue in Forty Forty. About one third of the cemetery was destroyed in the Agnes flood of 1972. The Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society has microfilmed the records. Contact: Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, PO Box 1776, Shavertown, PA 08708-0776. I have a phone number and contact if you would like to contact me privately. There is a wonderful lady at the cemetery office who is extremely interested in helping people with their questions concerning the cemetery. Mrs. Edwards Forty Fort Cemetery River St & Wyoming Ave. Forty-Fort, Pa. 18704 Phone 570-287-5214 I believe she is in the office on Mon. Wed. and Fri. from 9-1. Many of my ancestor's graves were also lost in the flood. She did however find the entire family i was looking for in her records. They do have a booklet that lists all the graves that were washed away in the flood i believe it cost ten dollars.
