To tell you the truth, I haven't worked much on this line. My g-g-g-grandmother was Jerusa Miller, wife of Andrew Miller. They appear in Schuylkill Co. PA by 1860, and their daughter Mesilla Alice Miller was my g-g-grandmother, she married Josiah Rumbel son of Joshua & Louisa "Lucy" Singley Rumbel. I know Jerusa died in March 1900, and have a photograph someone took of her gravestone, but could never find anything more on her. At the time of the 1870 census, she & husband are still in Schuylkill Co., but next to HER name it states she owns real estate - not next to his name, next to hers. That made me think that perhaps she inherited some property, but could never link her to any parents. After a 2-yr search, a very studious clerk at the Pottsville courthouse finally located a death certificate for her - it was under Mrs. Andrew Miller - and gave her maiden name as Seeley born in Luzerne Co. The only Seeley's that appear in Luzerne Co. for the time-frame of her birth is Robert & I think John - in Kingston Twp. A quick look at the 1850 census for Robert & Mary Seeley in Kingston Twp. Luzerne Co. - what a surprise, no Jerusa but there is a Masilla. And my Jerusa named a daughter Masilla. I think I am looking at the same family - I think because of the similarities in the names of "Masilla" Seeley and "Mesilla" Alice Miller, I am looking at mother & daughter. And am hoping the probate, estate, will or obit for Robert Seeley will help me determine if this is so.
