Hello List I am still trying to pin down the exact origins of my Samuel Titus of  Salem Twp. who drowned in the Susquehanna in the late 1820’s. I find that most (but not all) of  the Titus families of Salem Twp./Shickshinny from 1820 thru 1880 are likely tied to the Tituses of northern Northampton Co.    A Jacob Titus settled there in 1785, presumably of the Bucks Co. Tituses of Dutch origin. There is a Jacob Titus who is listed on the 1810 census for Pittston Twp.    Does anybody have any information on this Titus? Regards, Dan Foose
