    1. [PALUZERN] Information included on Death Certificates
    2. Debbie Maxwell
    3. Hi all, I'm looking at death certificates from the 1920's. The questions listed below are asked on the certificate. Keep in mind that the person giving the information may or may not know the answers. So, the parents names may be listed as unknown, but you never know. Death certificates have been very beneficial to me and are definitely worth getting, because every clue helps. From my great grandmother's death certificate from 1922, I got the names of my great great grandparents and the countries where they were born. On another death certificate I got the place where a great grandmother was buried, which was different from the church that did the funeral. If they can't find the death certificate with the information that you provided, they will send back a form for more detail or exact information. I had one great grandmother that they couldn't find even though I had put down the correct information on the application. I had the obituary, so they said to send that along the second time. I did, and they found it on the second search. So, sometimes they may just have missed it the first time through. When I got the certificate the surname which began with an R looked like a P. On the other hand I ordered one for a gggf, whom I thought died in 1929, the certificate came back with a death date of 1928, so they were very thorough on this one. Remember to put down any possible spelling variations of the surname.
