Hello, My father-in-law passed away yesterday here in Texas. This is the obit we put in the paper. Thomas GOLIGHTLY Jr., 73, of Austin, Texas died Tuesday April 24, 2001 from cancer. He was born in Edwardsville, Penn. on March 2, 1928 to Thomas and Gwen JONES GOLIGHTLY. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 1st wife Mary Joan MALONEY GOLIGHTLY. Surviving are his wife, Virginia GOLIGHTLY of Austin, Texas, a sister Mary and husband Alec KONSAVAGE of Traverse City, Mi., a sister Louise TESAR of Penn., a brother Richard and wife Wilma GOLIGHTLY of Houston, Texas, a sister Margaret SINCLAIR of Wilkes-Barre, Penn., a son Thomas and wife Sherri GOLIGHTLY of Houston, Texas and a daughter Mary GOLIGHTLY of Austin, Texas. He was Grandpa to Kimberly and T.J. GOLIGHTLY and Lewis GARDNER of Houston, Texas, he also had numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas moved to Houston, Texas in 1959 and went to work for Nabisco Brands Bakery and retired from there in 1985. He also served in the Navy during WWII. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Nabisco Retirees Assoc. Memorial services will be held at Southwest Christian Church in Austin, Texas on Thursday April 26 at 7pm.
