I am new at this so please excuse me for posting this way. I hope my message will reach a lot of people. I am looking for ENGLEHARD/ENGLEHART ancestors and have been stuck at the >same point for quite some time now. My g-g-grandfather is John Englehart born August 30, 1827, I think Germany. I got the birth date from his head stone at the cemetery, St Matthews Church in Quakake PA. The earliest record I have of my John is the 1850 census and he is in Schuylkill Co, Tamaqua PA, a boarder in a mining field. He is married to Catherine Bloom/Blum and they have a daughter Mary born in 1847. I also find him at St John's church in Tamaqua attending the service with Eva Elizabeth Engelhardt. I later find Eva Elizabeth Engelhardt at Grace Reformed Church in Hazleton PA, see the following information. GRACE REFORMED CHURCH 169 N. I have a church record for Martin Englehart that says he way born in Gerstungen near Eisenach Germany. I am trying to tie my John to this family. Can you help?? Many names that were with my John at St John's church are also at Grace Reformed Church.
