Hi List, I have a question. If someone, in my case it was my gr-grandfathers brother Thomas Kubowski, who lived in the Plains area, was said to have been killed by an explosion in the mines, by way of an igniting that went all wrong, he apparently set the igniting but it never went off, and went in to check and then ignited and killed him. He was said to have died in July of 1929. But I can't find record of it anywhere. His tombstone in SS Peter & Paul's Cemetery in Plains has the 1929 date on it but thats all. No month nor day. I have checked the whole year of 1929 in newspaper microfilms at the Osterhout Library, but found nothing. I can't get a death certificate for him because I don't have an exact date or parents to give them. I don't even know what mine it was. So question is, what do I do now? How do I find this information? Can anyone help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm desperate now. TIA. ~ Cheryl
