    2. I am a descendant of Joseph Moss 1765-1850 who came to Bloomingdale, Ross twp around 1790. My lines are tangled in Luzerne Co and especially the Huntington Valley west of Shickshinny. I have three WILKINSON lines all descending from Jonathon Sr. and Elizabeth Worden Wilkinson of Litchfield Co, Connecticut. I have two MOORE lines descending from William and Dorcas Kerr Moore of Chester Co and Cecil Co, Maryland, coming to McKendree, Union twp abt 1799. William was a Rev War vet serving under Washington for more than three years. I have two DOWNING lines descending from Daniel Sr. and Hannah Adams Downing. Daniel and Hannah were from Windham Co, Connecticut. Daniel's father Jonathan early bought shares in the Connecticut Susquehanna Company. Daniel survived the Battle of Wyoming and the subsequent flight back to Connecticut. Hannah Adams' father Solomon had a cousin John who became President of the United States. I have two MELLICK lines that are Palentine, originally coming from New Jersey to Waterton, Huntington twp. My GREGORY line is descended from Peter Sr. and Mary Susannah Gerhart Gregory. Peter was a Rev War veteran and settled about 1786 at the western foot of Shickshinny Mt. Peter died in 1790 and Mary Susannah married Isaac Benscoter, forever entangling my family with the large Benscoter family. My Elisha RICHARDS was killed at the Battle of Wyoming. His widow with the five children fled back to Connecticut. Oldest daughter Rebecca married in CT the Rev War veteran Stephen ROBERTS who then came to settle in Ross twp about 1799. William BRANDON came late to the Huntington Valley, about 1804, and settled near what is Harveyville. He had immigrated from Ireland with mother and brothers. Some of the brothers went to Illinois. I have many other cousins and lines in the Huntington Valley. Hope to find new cousins. Linda Moss MossLJ@aol.com
