Some time ago I printed an 1803 abstract from the Luzerne County Federast - apparently one of the first newspapers (weekly) in the County. I checked a few of the 53 pages and noted that my 4Xgreat grandfather Ishmael Bennett had mail waiting for him. Interesting - but no big deal. Read it all last week before filing it and on page 52 - I found a FOR SALE written by Ishmael Bennett of Hanover. He wanted to sell 150 acres of land in Hanover which included a log cabin 18 by 30 ft. And so - almost 198 years after he put that article in the paper - I was reading it. Unique indeed because I am the last of the Bennetts in the Ishmael, Ishmael Jr., Josiah, Silas line. Now I need help. My punch went through the URL so I cannot find it again on my PC, Notes at the close of the 53rd page indicates that I could have brought up other abstracts from the years between 1797 and 1807. The article has the copy write of Paula Radwanski of the Wyoming County Historical Society. Could someone give me the URL and perhaps others will find their ancestors in their everyday life.
