Where in Luzerne did you find her in 1850? Look in the 1830 and 1850 Census for Dulls in Luzerne and surrnounding counties. Any families that gain a daughter betwen 1830 and 1840 are probably hers. I trust you have already looked in FamilySearch and rootsweb WorldConnect. bob gillis Emandrwm@aol.com wrote: >Looking for information on father and surname of mother. I am looking for information on Silsbees in Luzerne at 1800 or earlier. I found Elijah and Reuben Silsbee in the 1790 and 1800 census. Reuben is a common family name (in each generation) but I am trying to link either of these to our confirmed ancester, Abigail. Also, I found a relative of Nathaniel Giddings who married a Mary Silsbee (widow of a Silsbee) and then a Lucinda Silsbee (another common family name). My direct line of Silsbees left Luzerne in 1830's but I have seen many other family names on censuses (Benjamin and David). Any information, even remote, is greatly appreciated. Looking for information on father and surname of mother. She was age 15 on 1850 Luzerne Co. census, in household with mother, Margaret, and step-father, Edward Thomas. By 1860 she was married to Sidney Saums. Margaret was deceased by then. Sidney and Roseann and children moved to Lawrence Co IL shortly after 1870. Also Sidney's brothers, John and George Saums and families also moved there. Any assistance would be appreciated. I suggest finding Dziedzics that live in PA (there are 48) using say Switchboard and find any that live in Carbon County and write them to see if they are relatives. If you know the married surnames of any daughters look them up also. bob gillis Mark and Trina Galauner wrote: >Bob > >Thanks for the tips. Beginning in 1906, the state has kept birth and death registration in a central location. You will not find them at the county level, except for what are called "Delayed Birth Registration," which was for the purposes of signing on for Social Security. Therefore, if you wish to obtain a copy of a birth or death registration, you need to apply to the state office: http://www.dsf.health.state.pa.us/health/cwp/view.asp?a=168&Q=229939&healthRNavrad3439C=|# It's important to read their requirements in order to order copies of records. Her Death certificate would be filed in the County where she died, not necessarily the county where SSA has her last residence. At age 101 she was probably living in an assisted residence and the last residence address could have been the address of her child, grandchild or guardian. My wife's aunt lived in Queens NYC, died in Manhattan , NYC but the SSDI has her last residence as our address. My wife was administratrix and changed the aunt's address after death. bob gillis Mark and Trina Galauner wrote: >Bob > >Thanks for the tips. The Cuyahoga County, Ohio Married records show her as Antonia Gecek. Marriege record Vol 87 Page 347, that may give the parents names. Bob Thanks for the tips. Maybe I will try for her Social Security application and see what happens there. I've had good luck with death certificates though. Yes, this indeed is her information so maybe I should consult Carbon County. Thanks again! I see a William Price who died on 10/13/1896 in Glen Lyon - could that be yours. Also, what year of death do you have for Mary? Eleanore
The surety of Antoinette's Death Certificate having the parents' names is IMO quite low. I think your Antonette/Antoinete was the one in the SSDI born 1 May 1889 died 29 Sep 1990 with a last residence of Wetherly, Carbon County, PA Zip 18255. at age 101. SSN 206-40-2210 issed PA. Were any of her children living when she died? Her SS-5, SS application, would more likely to have her parents correctly. Since you have a birthplace (from the marriage record?) I would ask on a Polish list bob gillis Mark and Trina Galauner wrote: >Hello > >I was wondering if anyone in Luzerne County could help me. Hello I was wondering if anyone in Luzerne County could help me. I have tried to get a copy of the death certificate of Antonette Dziedzic from PA Vital Records but they refused my application because I can not prove my relationship. I am only interested in finding out the names of her parents to see if I can tie her into my family. I think she is the aunt or cousin of my great grandfather, John Muniak. Here is the information that I have Antonette Dziedzic maiden name Gocek married in Cleveland, Ohio in 1910 to Stanislaw Dziedzic immigrated in 1907 born in Ropczyce, Poland in 1888 died 29 September 1990 last lived in Blakely or Hazleton (lived in Throop in 1920) Thank you to anyone who may be able to help me.
