The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Lawrance appearing to be about 5 years old at the time it was taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from this BURDICK Family so that this precious old photograph can be returned to the care of family. Luzerne Co. marriage registration are on microfilm and available via LDS's Family History Center covering from the start of registrations in Oct 1885 through 1909. The registrations are simplified versions of the questionare usually filed out and usually include only the name, date of birth, and city of residence of the contracting parties along with the date and name of the official performing the ceremony. All of these records are now viewable in book form at the Luzerne County Courthouse annex. The office is located on the first floor of the building situated on the NW corner of Pennsylvania and E. Northampton St. across from the Genetti Hotel. WIlls and estates are also available in the same office. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Cotton" <danieltcotton@sbcglobal.net> To: <PALUZERN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2007 8:15 AM Subject: [PALUZERN] Luzerne County Marriage Records : The last time I reviewed Luzerne County marriage records they were located in the basement of the courthouse. If anyone is planning a trip to the Luzerne court house and would have time to locate and copy the loose papers in my ancestors Orphan Court File I would very grateful. Of course I would reimburse cost of copy and postage costs as well as time and travel. Please feel free to contact me off list. Fondly, Cindy in Wisconsin

Michael, Thank you very much. You gave me some more new information. Grandma said that Mary later married & then moved to Jefferson county, PA. She doesn't remember the married name as she really only knew her as "Aunt Mary" . I also know that "Aunt Mary" later moved to the Warren area of northwestern PA late in life from a telephone call that Grandma got from Aunt Mary about 10 years ago. With the information you provided, I now have a year to start looking in Jefferson county - the Punxsutawney area. The search continues............... the 1920 Census still show Mary Barker age 40, as a servant in the household of Charles R. Wood vice Worth as previously reported. Not showing her in 1930 Census, so she may have married by then and moved on. Michael, This is great. I am directly related to the Paul Barker born in England.....his wife Annie & children: CLifford, Russell & Ethel. My Grandmother told me to look for a Mary Barker.......she always knew her as "Aunt Mary". Grandma did say that Mary was a Barker & born in England. I believe that the Mary Barker who is listed as a servant right after Paul Barker's family is the Mary I am looking for. Is there a census after the 1900 available? Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church baptized 4 children for my gggrandfather Christian DINKELACKER/DINKLOCKER and his wife Magadalena in 1862 and 1863: a twins Herman and Christia b March and baptized May 1862; parents living in Stockton or Hazleton b. Christiana, b Apr 1863 and baptized Jun 1863; parents living in Hazleton (Tescow?) c. Heinrich, b Aug 1863 and baptized Jun 1863 [obvious error in birth date; probably twin of Christiana as they were baptized on the same date] Three of the four listed children (Christia, Christiana, and Heinrich) were not listed in the 1870 census or any subsequent census. I assume all died within a few years of birth, but have no idea where they would be buried? Father Christian DINKLOCKER was buried in Vine Street Cemetery in 1878/9 and mother in 1896, but none of these "babies" are listed there. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where they might have been buried? Any help greatly appreciated. Sharon ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
