I am looking for information on the family of Hugh Williams. Last known address was Dennison Twp, Luzerne Co on the 1850 census. It is assumed he may have died between 1850 and 1860. His wife, Eliza and the children were shown on the 1860 census as living in White Haven. I am unfamiliar with the churches and cemeteries in the Dennison Twp area but also wonder about the boundary changes in that area that makes it unclear as to where I might need to focus my efforts. It would be great to find burial information or even baptisms and church information on the family. I am also trying to find the parents of Hugh Williams. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
I am not related nor do I know anyone with the Conover name. I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind & trying to reunite the photo with the relatives. If you ever find any of the Barker or Roderick families - let me know. I am hunting for some of those. I hope you are able to return the photo to a relative. Good luck with it Michelle ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley Cardiel" <cardiels@comcast.net> To: <PALUZERN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2007 11:54 PM Subject: [PALUZERN] CONOVER Family Photograph > I've "rescued" an old photograph of Lillie CONOVER which was taken at the > Lee Stearns Studio in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Fellow genealogists and anyone concerned with preserving our sacred cemeteries, The History Channel and Time Warner are sponsoring a 'Save Our History' grant award for which anyone can go online and cast their vote. Voting ends THIS FRIDAY April 27th, so time is short. We were fortunate that our restoration project was chosen as a finalist. The JCOGS is the only genealogy society or cemetery project to be chosen as one of the five finalists, so I truly hope that you will go to the Time Warner website and cast your vote for the James Cemetery project. If awarded this grant, we will use 100% of the grant to begin installing an antique-style aluminum alloy fence around the perimeter in order to help halt further desecration of this sacred and historic burial ground. You can read more about our James Cemetery project at the Time Warner 'Save Our History' voting website. Please unite with us as a group of genealogists concerned about the ever-increasing destruction of our cemeteries by VOTING for us at the website below. And note also that ANYONE with Internet access can VOTE so please forward this email to your genealogy circle of friends and ask THEM to vote too! In the 1930's there was a PUGH family living in the Parsons section of North W-B. I cannot remember the mans name but his wife was Liz. Bill Fehlinger-NJ ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
I am looking for information on Joshua Pugh. Born 1782 in New Jersey, settled in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County, PA. Died 1853. Was a Tanner, Farmer, and Gristmill Owner. Wife was Thirza Tillbury. Family records indicate he was raised in Easton, PA. Would like to know who his mother, father were, etc. In 1800 Census of Northampton County, the only Pugh I could find was Hugh Pugh, residing in Lower Smithfield Township. Thank you very much. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Lillie CONOVER which was taken at the Lee Stearns Studio in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. The photograph is dated June 14, 1877 with Lillie appearing to be in her teens at the time it was taken. In addition to her name and the date, someone has written "Your Schoolmate" and "Ulinam diguus Fali conjuge maritus videvi possim - Boutus" which I'm guessing to be Latin. I'm hoping to locate someone from Lillie's family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I would lkie to hear from anyone who is familiar with the surname BUGEL . They came to Hazleton in about 1895. This is the date I have as a Naturalization Record in Rockland Cty of New York. I am sure there are more relatives living in Hazleton at this time. Thanks. Delores C. Jones dcj@dmv.com
