I see that the Goulden's deaths are listed in the Wilkes Barre Almanac for 1893 - I will take a look next time get to the library to see if I can find obits for them. Hopefully, it will be this weekend - will let you know. Eleanore
Hi Bob I could not find anything listed for George Goulden nor his wife in the W-B times. I did find a George Goulden on 4-8-1915 who was pallbear for Mr. Goff..he was listed as an employee of the Goff Lumber Company...he is probably your George's son unless you have his date of death wrong. There was also a long article about the marriage of Emma E. Goulden who was married in 1900. The article states she was escorted by her guardian which makes me think this could be one of your George's daughters. I will be happy to send these two articles to you if you want them. Sharon, I have tried to locate the obit of my ggh George J.Goulden who died on November 9 ,1893. His wife also died November 23,1893. If you have the time, I would appreciate any information you may find. The family lived in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. My ggf was a Forman at a lumber mill, before he died and thought the W-B Record newspaper may have some info, however, the article says the paper was called W-B Times. I am interested on how he died. Dear Folks: If you had Scottish coal mining ancestors who came from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to the coal mines of Carbon and Luzerne Counties, Pennsylvania (and perhaps elsewhere), you might be interested in the following list of passengers from a photocopy of the original hand-written document: All (male and female) are listed as "miners". All were originally from Scotland and all intended to make the US their new home. Below are the names as best I could make out, with ages and sex included. I am a coal miners daughter from the mines in Nanticoke, PA Welsh and English. I found your information a good trip down memory lane. You are so right that the young of today do not understand that life we all lived. When the horn would blow for an accident at the mine and all would hurry there. I was very young but I had the memory of my DAD taking me down once in the elevator. My Dad started in the mines at 12 and died as an engineer in the power plant. He was a self made man of the mines. The recent loss of some coal miners here got much world wide publicity. For you younger people who have never lived through that time period, I would suggest that you read some interesting information on the following web site. I'm looking for info on the will of Daniel MOORE. I think he lived in Orange County, NY and was the son of Patience VAIL and Usher MOORE (both were born 1757). Thanks in advance! Michelle
Dear Folks: I have worked many years on my Dunn family history and I am nearly finished. I have traced them from Scotland in 1785 to Cape Breton 1830s - 1843 to Pennsylvania 1843 - 1852 to North Carolina 1852 - 1866 and back to Pennsylvania. They were coal miners and Presbyterians. In addition to the name Dunn, the line includes, Barrowman, Wilson, MacTaggart and Miller. However, I am missing 3 vital pieces of information: 1.. They attended the Beaver Meadows Church in the 1840s and 1850s but I have been unable to find baptismal records (circa 1842 and 1850) for children Mary Ann, Thomas, Janet, Elizabeth and Jane. 2.. After Thomas returned from North Carolina, he lived in the Jeanesville area and attended Audenried Church. I have been unable to fine the baptismal records (circa 1866 - 1882) for his children Margaret, Mary, Janet, Elizabeth, Isabel, Barbara, Agnes and Thomas. 3.. I have been unable to find the above family in the 1870 census. All evidence shows they lived in Jeanesville, Luzerne County at that time but attended Church in Carbon County. Does anyone know of resources I have missed? Thanks, Fred
I have a few photos of gravestones from Vine Street Cemetery for Marshall family members. I thought they were for my Marshall line but they are not. If you are connected to William, Bertha, or Roger please let me know. Joan A.

WOW! Two replies and two answers to my questions in less than an hour. You sure can't get any better than that. Thanks to Dalice and Pat I now know the maiden name of Eliza SCHATZ and also the death date for her husband, John SCHATZ. I also know now the name of the previously unknown child of the family who died before 1910, Clarence W. SCHATZ. This information opens up other possible avenues of research like naturalization and death certificates for John SCHATZ. I may yet find out where he originated in Germany. If anyone is researching this family or if anyone has any additional information on this family I would certainly appreciate hearing from you also. Again, my sincere thanks.
