    1. [PALUZERN] MASSAKER Defined - 1870 Luzerne
    2. Vincent E. Summers
    3. Folks, Now maybe this is not new to many of you. I was searching for the 1870 MASSAKER entries. I found a suspicious MUNMASSER entry. Isaac, with wife Elizabeth, and all the kids of Isaac MASSAKER. Next door was Benjamin, and on the following page of that census entry, was Adaline - apparently the first wife of Benjamin. If anyone wishes those census images, please email me. I think this will pretty much tighten up any questions as to the MASSAKER lineage. Vince Summers

    3. Hi Mary Ellen, You have Daniel Woods as married to Mary Massaker. Daniel ( dob 1838 ) was married to Nancy Jane Barber. He was in the Civil War and returned to the mines when the war was over. He was indeed killed at Avondale in 1869. I have some information on the Woods Family We have shared Miller/Massaker information in the past. 2. Can anyone tell me the name of schools a child might have gone to between the years 1895 and 1915 in the Hazleton area? Especially if they lived in Hollywood village. Also if the school is still around today.? Thanks Debbie ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

    2. Massaker and its variations is a rather common name in New Jersey. Unfortunately, the name also comes with multiple spellings, often within the same family. I've seen everything from two S's to one. The "a" in the middle is sometimes found with an "e" or an "i". Others completely drop the vowel in the middle. The "ker" is sometimes spelled "cre". . . . and so on. I am researching the family of Alexander D. MASEKER and his son John W. MASEKER or MASKER from Dover and Randolph, Morris County, NJ. If you wish to discuss these folks, please contact me off list as my group doesn't connect to Luzerne County, PA. 3. Jacob Miller was the first husband for Elizabeth unknown. However, I think he may have been the son of John Bernard Miller - but that is suppositious of me. If that was the case, his wife was Elizabeth Myers. Elizabeth Miller remarried my Martin Burst. She outlived him. She had children with names like Bennington "Bing" Miller, etc. Vince On 9/4/07, Sharon Saracino <shashy.rn@verizon.net> wrote: > You're welcome, Vince. Did you have Miller's in Plymouth? 3. It is peculiar, Sharon, but I don't believe these have any connection - yet it is most odd. The church, etc., is the same. Mine was John Sommers. I have a fair amount of data on him. He was the son of Maurice. Sometimes his name was spelt Somers, but generally Sommers. It was my father and his brother who changed it to Summers. His other brothers and sisters kept Sommers. 3. I think, Lynda, it is *most likely* that Jacob, married (first) Nancy is the guy I seek. I had mine listed as having an unknown first wife, and a son Adam! The date was about 6 years later, after the 1851-1851 fellow died, but it was often the way to appoint a "replacement" child. Thanks! Now to find proof. Vince On 9/3/07, Lynda L.
