My family came over from Galicia, Poland (don't know the exact city-just that in the census reports it's written as Austria-Poland) They came over in the late 1800's-early 1900's. I've been told that MOTZ was spelled MAC, MOJEK was the surname when they came over but because of how the letters looked and how the name was pronounced it was MOYER after they came over. KUCHARCZYK is the Polish spelling of KUHARCIK. BIALEK means white and Kuharcik means cook. So can you imagine if any ancestors of mine changed their names to "white" or "cook" BIALEK and KUHARCIK (both grandfathers) lived in Larksville (as far as I know) from the first time they came over here. MOTZ and MOYER (grandmothers) both lived in Edwardsville back in 1910 & 1920. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Diane Taylor - Purrinss01@aol.com

Researching John FOLEY, born in Wales (possibly county of Glamorganshire) about 1857, died May 11, 1921; emmigrated to America around 1871, married Margaret Bryan and had eight children between 1883 and 1900. I don't know where he settled first, but he and his wife were in Plymouth by the time their first child was born in 1883. I know the names and birthdates and birthplace (Plymouth) of the children; still looking for marriage date etc for John and Margaret, any information on his siblings, his parents and immigration info. John FOLEY purportedly had 16-17 siblings; unsure if they all came to this country or not - supposedly two sets of twins amongst the siblings, a brother William and a sister Mary who married a Kennedy. According to cousin, John FOLEY was Protestant, but was converted to Catholicism by wife, Margaret Bryan. Also researching Margaret BRYAN/BRIEN, born October 1962 and died Dec 12, 1916, who married John FOLEY. Census records reflect PA born - death certificate says Plymouth PA; youngest child of Margaret said she was born in New Philadelphia/Middleport. Death certificate said mother was Mary HOLLAHAN , Ireland born and father was Patrick Bryan, Ireland born. Family said Margaret came over with parents. No info on parents yet. Obituary said two brothers - Patrick and William - both of Larksville and Mrs. James Walsh of Philadelphia. Seeking info on parents, siblings and parent immigration. Ruth FOLEY RILEY Mt.
