I am also interested in this information.
I am trying to find information on Katharina FEHLINGER (married Karl Glaser). Born-Germany 1863-Came to America 1869 (possibly Parsons) Married 21 April 1881, St. Nicholas Church Wilkes-Barre. Died 9 April 1922 Buried St,Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. I am interested if anyone knows of the extent of records both from The Church and from the cemetery and where they can be accessed. Some time ago I printed an 1803 abstract from the Luzerne County Federast - apparently one of the first newspapers (weekly) in the County. I checked a few of the 53 pages and noted that my 4Xgreat grandfather Ishmael Bennett had mail waiting for him. Interesting - but no big deal. Read it all last week before filing it and on page 52 - I found a FOR SALE written by Ishmael Bennett of Hanover. He wanted to sell 150 acres of land in Hanover which included a log cabin 18 by 30 ft. And so - almost 198 years after he put that article in the paper - I was reading it. Unique indeed because I am the last of the Bennetts in the Ishmael, Ishmael Jr., Josiah, Silas line. Now I need help. My punch went through the URL so I cannot find it again on my PC, Notes at the close of the 53rd page indicates that I could have brought up other abstracts from the years between 1797 and 1807. The article has the copy write of Paula Radwanski of the Wyoming County Historical Society. Could someone give me the URL and perhaps others will find their ancestors in their everyday life. It is worth the search. Thank you Dave Bennett Punta Gorda, FL
In the US, Hazleton, PA 1920 census, there is an entry that indicates that the activity of an 18-year old girl was student in a reform school. I'm not sure about the "reform" but that's what it looks like. Did girls (in this case a woman) go to reform schools? If so, where was it located? June Nessler in Fortuna, CA 6610bj@humboldt1.com
I am wondering if there is a person in Luzerne Co., PA that would be willing to help me? I am trying to find my grandfather and I have very limited information but this is what I know: His name was, Edward F. Madden born in Luzerne Co., PA, per his marriage license of 1914. At this time, he stated he was over the age of 21 so that would make his birth year approximately 1893 or there abouts. I have checked the census and can not find Edward F. but did find alot of Ed/Eddie/Edwards but don't know which one he could be. Would there be a telephone directory to see if a new member was listed in the Madden family? Maybe a school picture with an Edward F. Madden? Need to find something with the F as I think it stood for Frank/Franklin as my father had Franklin for his middle name. ANY help will be appreciated. Thank you for trying. Z

Hi- My Haber ancestors, who lived on Carleton Ave in Hazleton in the 1920 census, probably lived near the Hazleton State Hospital during the 1910 census. I can't find them. Does anybody know where the hospital is/was? Is there another town or county that could be considered "near" the place?
