    3. If you have a chance, I'd appreciate a lookup for any Rescorla births. It's a pretty un-common name, and gets mangled quite frequently. I've seen it as: Rescorle, Riskorla, Roscorla, Rescorl, etc. Thanks in advance - this is very generous. 1. [PALUZERN] FOIA Request woes
    2. Hi Folks, I submitted an FOIA form to my nearest INS office asking for all Alien Registration documents pertaining to my gggf. She emigrated in 1900 and never naturalized. I provided over a dozen possible spellings of her surname, the exact year of her emigration, her DOB, her Death Cert, other family member names and addresses, etc. and offered the idea that the documents were likely at the Middle District Court in Scranton. A few weeks later I received my form back along with the some INS, nearest regional NARA, etc. pamphlets and absolutely no explanation, nothing highlighted, no comments. What exactly should my next step be ? Did I just get a clueless person at the local INS ? Should I send my form directly to the Middle District address instead ? Thanks, Catherine

    3. Maggie, This William is my 4G Grandfather. I have no information at all on the children you list below, but had another daughter named Sarah (b. abt 1839) who married Benjamin WELCH. They had a daughter named Miriam. My line, however, descends from William's first marraige to Elizabeth DENISON...they had a son named Hiram who married Mary BROWNE, a girl supposedly from Ireland. How does this connect to you, besides the common William HANCOCK? I only have one more generation back from William, his father Jonathan.
