For many years the SUNDAY INDEPENDENT was the only Sunday newspaper in the Wilkes-Barre area. It was published, I believe, by the same publishers as the Wilkes-Barre Record. However it would not be included with that newpaper on microfilm having the different title. I am not aware of its start and stop publishing dates, and am not aware of availability on microfilm. It was still a strong and vibrant paper in the 1960's and 70's. -----Original Message----- From: J Rehms <jrehms@iea.com> To: PALUZERN-L@rootsweb.com <PALUZERN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, March 24, 2001 2:18 AM Subject: [PALUZERN] Newspapers >I have checked the newspaper holdings at the PA State Library for a Sunday >paper for Wilkes-Barre around 1926. I. too, would like to know about Wills. I am looking for Wills in Books 28 and 30. The Library History Catalogue of LDS has reels only for "letters" and not "numbers" and the last one v. Y_Z covers only to 1906. The Wills I want are for 1907 and 1910. My question is : were these later ones lost in the flood or are they available at the Luzerne County Court House and if so, for how much. Thanks very much, Anne
