    3. The cemetery is still in existance, and is located on Wyoming Avenue in Forty Forty. About one third of the cemetery was destroyed in the Agnes flood of 1972. The Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society has microfilmed the records. Contact: Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, PO Box 1776, Shavertown, PA 08708-0776. I have a phone number and contact if you would like to contact me privately. 2. Keith Daniel wanted to know where to find the Plymouth Historical Society. I looked on www.anywho.com but could not find a Historical Society for Plymouth, Pa. So, on the "find a business" section I typed in Historical Society in the "name" and "historical" in the keyword and just Pennsylvania in the place for state, no city. There are 63 Historical Societies listed in Pennsylvania, but there was none for Plymouth. I am not familiar enough with Pa. place names to know which one might be nearby. Anyone can access this information at www.anywho.com. You can also find individuals by name in a town, a state or across the whole country. Lois in Malibu

    3. I stopped at St Mary's on my last trip to Scranton to see what their policies were, but I've been busy since then with other things and haven't gathered things together to try to request anything yet. I was told that we may not search the records ourselves as they're concerned abt preservation, that they handle requests only by mail, that they do the research on an as-time-allows basis, and that we should include $25 per hour for their time. Now, if you're requesting multiple items (as I will be eventually) I'm not sure what kind of time committment it will entail. What I thought to try was to send $25 with a note saying that they should let me know if there will be additional expenses. I only have a handle of people that I know of there, so I don't think there will be that much to research. Otoh, never having seen their records, I have no idea how time consuming they are to use. If you get better answers offlist, please share, as I'd be very interested in knowing how others have fared. Alaine __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Yes! The Grit is still in circulation. Try Grit as an URL and it should come up. Apparently it is now available by subscription. I used to sell it in the Valley as a boy and pedaled many miles for pennies. 2. Does anyone know if the GRIT newspaper is still in existance? I know it still was in the 1970s...and it had to be around in 1900 because there was a note scribbled on the back of an old paper about a subscription/delivery that someone in my family found for an ancestor who was married that year. I know there should be alot of good information in it since it was one of those smaller country newspapers. Atleast that is how I remember it. Thyme
