Ken, my friend has cancer & has had 2 or 3 surgerys since I've been knowing her. Before we\ met she had breast removed, but cigarettes wasn't the cause. She said. When she had the top lobe (misspell) removed she laid the pack down for 6 -8 weeks & then picked them up again. The drs told her husband to stop smoking also & he did. She will go outside to smoke but will keep going, But I hope Tom will lay them down. Basil was smoking almost 2 packs a day, but put them down but picked up chewing, but has stopped that. ________________________________ From: Palmertree Listowner <palmertree.listowner@gmail.com> To: palmertree@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, February 18, 2013 8:41 PM Subject: Re: [PTREE] Armstrong/Greenwall Janie, >Why are we looking for info on Edna? I don't have her in my files, should I? I tried to find her on Ancestry.com and couldn't. So far we have found no connection to our families to her. Just the Armstrong that she married. Others on the list have connections to him and his ancestors. I like to keep up with things like that in my database, in case I can help a future genealogist with their research. Edna C. Armstrong's daughter married Ezra Armstrong, but I cannot place who he is related to. >I found a BILLY GRANTHAM that someone I was entering had married and he had no folks listed. Anybody know who he belongs to? Unfortunately I don't know anything about him. What first came to mind when I read your message was Billy Weldon. Then I realized that was another person. >Ken, so glad Tom is finally on the road to normal. I never heard of anybody having such a time with that surgery. I think he had a problem with his lungs, and that is why they had to trach him and sedate him after the surgery. He smoked all his life - full-flavored Winstons, no less. I would say nearly 3 packs a day. Go the their home and open any drawer in the kitchen, and Winston cigarettes will jump out at you! He has that 'smoker's cough" all the time. This might be the turning point with his smoking now. He hasn't had one in about a month. He is just now coming around to reality. Boy, don 't I know what he's going through, since it is almost exactly what happened to me back in 2010. Well tell Sharon you asked about them.
