    3. Gang, I seem to have all the info from her obituary in my file, but didn't include the obituary. Am posting in case some of you missed it, too. Ken --------------------------------------- The Winona Times Winona, MS December 15, 2011 Deceased Name: Viola King Moore Jones GREENWOOD -- Services for Viola "Polly" Moore Jones, 95, who died on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday Dec. 13, 2011 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton. Dr. Joe Pate and Rev. James Roe Tidwell officiated at the funeral. Mrs. Jones was born in Poplar Creek, on June 29, 1916, to Willie Edward and Sue Ware King, who preceded her in death. In 1945, she married James Ruth Moore of North Carrollton. They made Greenwood their home. He died in 1972. Mrs. Jones retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company after 28 years of service as a Maintenance Insurance Clerk. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she was secretary for the Fidelis Sunday School Class, a member of WMU, Sunshine Friends, and Joy Choir, prior to moving to Birmingham in 1990. In 1989, she married Dr. W. Hammond Jones of Birmingham, and lived there for over fifteen years until his death in 2005, at which time she returned to her home in Greenwood and First Baptist Church. While in Birmingham, Mrs. Jones was a member of Shades Mountain Independent Church, in Hoover, Ala., where she and Dr. Jones were coordinators for Fishermen Sunday School Class, of which they were members. She was Prayer Chairman for the Women's Christian Organization, and served as Chaplain of the Shades Mountain Garden Club, of which she was a member. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Ruth Moore, Sr., and Dr. W. Hammond Jones; four brothers, Drew King, Walter King, Lawrence King and Guy King; two sisters, Minnie King Black and Mattie King Austin, and a son-in-law, Claude G. Conner. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Moore Conner, of Greenwood; one son, James Ruth Moore, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Grenada; five grandchildren; one sister, Helen King McKinney, of Knoxville, Tenn., and many nieces and nephews.
