    1. Re: [PTREE] [PTR Serving alligator, no thanks!!!!!
    2. Good Morning, Several years ago someone opened up a little cafe in Norman serving all kinds of Cajun Food. There were several things listed as alligator. I stopped by after work one day to pick up some containers of food and chose one with alligator. It probably was gumbo. I was just tasting the sauce, but Joe was eating his UNTIL he got up, headed for the kitchen to dump his out, telling me to NEVER buy anything else made from alligator!! I remember him saying it was just awful greasy and full of gristle. Well, that made me toss mine out. That was our last time for alligator. But I did enjoy the crawdads, crawfish whatever at a Crawfish Festival in New Orleans two years ago. Joe's nephew and wife took us, with that music going, Dustin our 18 yr old grandson on stage singing with the band, had something to do with it. But Joe said those things weren't worth the work to get the little bit of meat so he had the grilled bratwurst or what ever they call it. There were other things also, corn on the cob and so much, you didn't go away hungry, for sure. I call those bratwursts The Street Rod Special. When we were going to Street Rod Shows all the time, everyone in our group couldn't wait for lunchtime to have the grilled bratwurst, not me, I loved the corn dogs. I wish I could make them taste like that. Maybe if we put on street rod t-shirts, sunglasses, cooked the corn dogs in old grease, played rock & roll really loud as we stand out by one of his cars to eat them, maybe that might work. ha ha Been fun talkin at cha!!!! I think I have had gator once in my life - didn’t know what it was then. Supposed to be really good. I have the hiccups tonight - makes me crazy. I don't know how to get rid of them, either. Got any ideas how to cure them??????? Cuz -----Original Message----- Buckoo, I've been reading the old news again. If you still remember the Big Black, you should see it now. If it's gets inside it's banks, it comes a big rain & it goes out. Come on down & we will give you a boat. Heard there were are crocs or gators in there now. You could get one & get the tail so you could take it to Carmack & have them cook it. What would it cost to order a plate of gator meat? 3. I had a friend back home who lived in Florida for many years and her boys would hunt and kill alligators and she would cook the tails ( I think that was all they ate ) and they loved it.
