Burton WINONA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Theola K. Burton of Winona were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, at Winona Church of Christ, with burial following in the Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Mr. Curtis Burton, assisted by Mr. Craig Owen, officiated the services. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona handled the arrangements. Visitation was on Friday, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., at the church. Mrs. Burton died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Burton was the daughter of the late Sam and Kate Mills Kite, and the widow of the late Grady Clyde Burton. She was a homemaker and a member of Winona Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Benny Burton Hopper; and a son, Ted Burton. Survivors include two daughters, Onirah Burton Malone (Clayton) of Winona and Betty Burton Choate of Winona; one son, Curtis Burton (Emalee) of Houston, TX; two sisters, Gay Gordon (Julian) of Carthage and Vitula Alcott of Lake Jackson, TX; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Chance Burton, Steve Choate, James Waggoner, Bo Surrell, Robert Brown, and David Kosinski. Honorary pallbearer was Gene Gibson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asian Mission Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
