Cuz, Such a nasty, expensive and unhealthy addiction. I am so glad God gave me the strength and the help I needed to put them away after starting to smoke when I was 43 years old. I "smoked" for about 10 years, and wish I never had put the first one in my mouth. Stress can do that to you, you know? When I think back during my late teen and early adult years, I was h*l* on wheels with my friends who smoked. Just to show how radical I was, I even went so far as to catch one of my friends gone to the girl's room, leaving her cigarettes and lighter at the table we were sitting at, at Pizza Hut one night. I made sure she was gone, and then I took about 8 of her Salems and dunked them in a water glass, then replaced them in her pack. When she got back to the table, boy, was she fit to be tied when she pulled one out to light up and it disintegrated! I just laughed like a fool. I thought she was going to kill me. She's dead now - about my age, and died about 2 years ago from extreme lung problems. As far as I know, no cancer involved. Maybe Tom will trust Christ to deliver him from that terrible, costly habit. With the cost of a pack -much less a whole carton, pretty soon no one will be able to afford them anyway. Ken ------------------------------------------------------------- Ken, my friend has cancer & has had 2 or 3 surgerys since I've been knowing her. Before we\ met she had breast removed, but cigarettes wasn't the cause. She said. When she had the top lobe (misspell) removed she laid the pack down for 6 -8 weeks & then picked them up again. The drs told her husband to stop smoking also & he did. She will go outside to smoke but will keep going, But I hope Tom will lay them down. Basil was smoking almost 2 packs a day, but put them down but picked up chewing, but has stopped that.
