    3. Gang, While prowling around tonight, I found a site that has access to every US census taken, complete with images. It is a subscription site, BUT, the 1940 census is FREE - all you have to do is register. What's so neat about the 1940 census there is that it is totally INDEXED. All you have to do is search for a name - you don't have to go looking for whoever you want to know about. That's great, because all the other sites I've found you must know where the person lived in 1930. You can even search on last name only. You can choose which state to search in, and in a moment or two it will give you a list of folks with that name, alphabetized by first name. I searched PALMERTREE in Mississippi, and found a gazillion families in it. A lot from Panola County, Leflore and many other counties, including Montgomery (of course!!) Anyway, here is the URL in case you want to search the 1940 census and view the images. I even found Jerry Dean there! Go to: https://www.censusrecords.com/ and scroll down the page. You will see where you can search the 1940 census for free. Just though I'd share that, because up till now, it has been very frustrating to find someone on that census. Ken
