Ken, with all the big machinery and all in those packing plants I'm surprised we don't hear of it more often, well, what I'm afraid of it it happening and us NOT hearing about it. Ha ha Nova Oh yes, I don't think I've ever heard of Meijer's Stores before you guys started talking about it. In a message dated 5/29/2013 7:11:54 P.M. Anyway, this is probably anUrban Legend, but over in the Delta at Moorhead they have an Allen Canning Company (truth). They can lots of vegetables for retail stores. About 12 - 15 years ago I had heard that a packer on the line had severed her finger and it fell into one of the bean cans. Since they would have to shut down that day's production line to search every can for it, the management decided to just take a chance on someone buying it. Well, they lost because an elderly woman bought that can and opened it for dinner one night. Boy, did she get a surprise! Never heard any more of that, but I passed that cannery every day going to class over there and every time I saw that plant, I thought of that finger...... yuk. Hope no one is having dinner when they read this.
