Gang, Google is your friend! It seems like it was a small community in Montgomery Co., MS off HIway 43. Here's a link to a map for it: http://mississippi.hometownlocator.com/maps/feature-map,ftc,3,fid,683334,n,t hrailkill.cfm Ken -----Original Message----- From: palmertree-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:palmertree-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of pdacus@gulftel.com Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2012 2:08 PM To: palmertree@rootsweb.com Subject: [PTREE] Thrailkill genealogy I'm researching William Carroll Thrailkill. I read somewhere, can't remember where now, that WC moved to Acadia Parish, LA in 1882 with his daughter Irena Frances Milner and became postmaster. But he was buried in Bethsaida Cemetery when he died in Oct. 1884. Does anyone have any information as to how that happened? Did he return to MS before he died, or was he brought back to be buried (which seems unlikely in those days since they travelled by wagon). Also, can anyone tell me anything about Thrailkill, MS? I know WC's son was postmaster in 1885. And supposedly there was a cave there where Confederate deserters hid. Where exactly was Thrailkill located? I would love to hear whatever anyone has to share.
