Peg, Thanks for finding and sending that obit. "Boomie" was a special person to me. I spent many hours at her trailer (which was behind her daughter's home in Green Acres-sub division in Greenwood). Ate many meals from her table, too. She had a thing for pork steak. I also found out what "wench" and another word for "old geezer" was, but can't remember that now. I also learned to not say those words because they were improper. Funny - she could say them, but I got really reprimanded when I tried them out!! Donna, My aunt Elizabeth Weldon Palmertree Turner lived on Hope street, as did my fathers' brother, uncle Rogers. She lived two houses from the railroad tracks, and he lived in the last house at the other end of the street. Spent many a summer hour playing in that neighborhood. You wouldn't even recognize it now. I always thought it was strange that every house was built the same. They had a small kitchen, small bathroom, a small living room, two small bedroom and a small hallway. Also had a small concrete porch in front. Tell you a funny story on me at aunt Elizabeth's house one day. Such memories. I can still see in my mind the Chinese market over on Carrollton Avenue where we would take a quarter and get a soda or ice cream novelty during those hot summers. Oh, to be a kid again.... Ken, Aunt Blanche's mother, Ola Grantham was brother to Enoch R Grantham who was Boomie's husband. Their daughter, Ann Grantham, was Ann Weldon. I think I got this down right. I am in a hurry. -----Original Message----- From: Palmertree Listowner Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 6:59 PM To: palmertree@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PTREE] Fw: Grantham obit Donna, My aunt Elizabeth Weldon Palmertree Turner lived on Hope street, as did my fathers' brother, uncle Rogers.
