Gang, Peggy sent me the following obituary and I find it very interesting on several levels. First, it helped me correct his date of death in my file. I had his death date as 19 Nov 1964, but this obituary would make that date be July or August 1964. I believe I got the birth and death dates of Marion Bingham from online cemetery transcriptions, not from the tombstone itself. So a check of his tombstone would be a good idea to see what it has. And secondly, I never knew that Marion Bingham died from gunshot wounds. Has anyone ever heard this story? Does this mean he was murdered, or did he commit suicide? Any help on confirming actual dates and info about his death would be helpful. Thanks. Ken _____ Aug. 2, 1964 The Star Herald Kosciusko, Ms. Bingham rites held Saturday at Old Plank Marion H. Bingham, 72, of the Stonewall community near Ethel, was found dead at his residence Thursday night about 7 o'clock. According to a report from coroner Ben Miller, the death was caused from gun shot wounds. Thanks, O.D. You sure been hiding here lately. Do you have any ideas or theories of who the Barrentine could have been that fathered Delbert Palmertree? As close as that community was back then, I'm really surprised that none of the last 2 generations talked about it or told the story. However, that might have been not talked about then? How is Francine doing? Tell her hello for us. Ken -----Original Message----- Better late than "Never"??? Ken, do you think it could be Ulysses Adelbert? He died young, but I thought maybe Tobitha may have named Hubert Delbert, Sr. after Ulysses, leaving off the d. Just a guess. Sure wish I could find out. Lynn, I remember you bringing that up when we were discussing candidates a few weeks ago. I meant to tell you then that it was a good theory. Then again, maybe the Adelbert got the "A" left off with our wonderful southern speak? It seems plausible to me, but unless we can find some sort of real proof, it will just be a good guess. Frankly, I Feel like U. Adelbert Barrentine just might be the father of Delbert. I thought perhaps, since O.D. married into the Barrentine line that he might have a little more insight into that family history than we others do.
