Joan and all......Happy T and Osman's (my first cousins) father was Virgil. I know so little about my Grice kin. I did know all the uncles, aunts and most of the cousins. There was Virgil, Victor, Homer, Howell, my dad, Roy, Ida Cook, Lena Bridges and Gladys (married more than once, there are Cook cousins through her). All children of John Robert Grice and Victoria Braswell. So Joan, our grandfathers were brothers? In growing up, I don't recall ever knowing any of the descendants from my grandpa Grice's siblings except Cliff Grice and I never knew where he fit in. I know we were cousins but he was more like an uncle to me. The only Grice reunion I ever remember attending was at Cliff Grice's country place over near Poplar Creek/Pine Bluff. That was around '72 /'74. I wonder who that belongs to now? Take care everybody and hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving! Their father John Robert Grice (1848) was married to Mary Jane McClure(1837) In Copiah Co, Ms. John Robert, Sr is buried at Hebron but I can't find Mary Jane. I am not sure which one of grandpa's brothers is father to Happy and the Grices at French Camp. I know them and they always came to the Grice Reunion, but I wasn't interested in genealogy back then. Also Uncle Monroe was married to Becie Sanders. I am not sure about all the children's names, but Dick was married to Dorothy(I didn't know about a previous husband) There was Tobe, Donnie Wayne, Claudette, Margie and one called 'sister'. I know Tobe is still living, Claudette Hathcock lives in Durant, Margie Briscoe lives in Vaiden and I don't know where sister lives. I haven't seen any of them since Dick died. Shame on me! When you get my age, the mind is the 1st to go. Mine has been gone, so hope these are right, if not maybe OD knows more. joan ________________________________ From: Ken Jackson <kjchowboy@bellsouth.net> To: palmertree@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 8:27:45 PM Subject: [PTREE] Grice families French Camp Ed, I am sure they are related, but I couldn't find anyone right off in my file with any French Camp connections. This Dick Grice was Joan Grice Brown's nephew. Joan's father was William Lonnie Grice, and his brother, James Monroe Grice was Dick's father. So Joan and Dick were first cousins.
