Ken, I am still trying to find out about the Oiltown reference. I never made it to the research center today, my doctor gave me muscle relaxers for a pulled muscle in my back and sent me home. I had pulled something while getting ready for a followup apt for some recent tests I took with my heart doctor (which came out good) but having that apt was sure handy for my pulled muscle. I did call a friend who everyone at the center considers the expert and Oilton was the only one she knew with that name. It is up near where there were so many oil towns way back. Some of them lasted and became real towns with names and some just went bust after the first boom. OKC and Tulsa started out as just little oil towns along with so many others Drumright, Cushing, Glenn, Earlsboro to name just a few! Kiefer had a nice high school with marble stairs, but just faded away into a ghost town after the boom. Do you have other clues? You said you didn't think it was in Creek County. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help today. I will call the Oklahoma History Center in OKC in the morning and see if I can find out anything there. Nova **************Need a job?
