    3. Oliver Funeral Home Online Obituaries Winona, MS March 5, 2009 Minnie Lee King (July 24, 1908 - March 5, 2009) Minnie Lee Stoker King, 100, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at her home in Winona. Visitation will be Saturday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home, with services following at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Mrs. King was a graduate of Mississippi University of Women and earned her master's degree from Iowa State University. She was a longtime home economics teacher at Winona High School. Prior to this, she was a state supervisor of home economics teachers. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mervin King; her sisters, Bess Stoker, Appie Redditt, Nancy Stoker, and Katie Sanders; and her brothers, Charlie Robert Stoker, Percy Stoker, and "Toff" Stoker. She is survived by a daughter, Sally King Jackson, and her husband, John R. Jackson, Jr., of Hattiesburg; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Morrow (Brian) of Hendersonville, NC; Bethany Cooper (Michael) of Nashville, TN; Rush Jackson of San Juan, Puerto Rico; Mark Jackson (Julie) of Seattle, WA; and Alicia Atteberry (Phil) of Knoxville, TN; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Burdette Patterson and Leona Herring, both of Winona; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. King was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winona, and was active in her church, garden club, and many community activities until health problems limited her participation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Winona, Mississippi; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
